Hey Joey, just returned from a canoe trip to Moose Island with my boys, ages 5 and 7. It's an annual event for us. Getting away from hectic scheduled events, we just enjoy God's awesome presence and his creation, and whatever weather he permits us to have. This year was a 25 mph sustained wind standing in between us and our destination. God provided and we had a great Father's Day weekend. Our quiet campfire talks are all about working together as a team, being respectful, patient, trusting God, thanking God, and living for God. All of these seem to be easier when more is required of us. At home we can forget the importance of these things. But we really come together in the difficult circumstances. The tougher the situation, the closer we're drawn to Jesus. Thank you Lord for those lessons in the midst of adversity. I pray that someday, my boys will be teaching their kids in this same way.

Supper was always the time for families to come together at the supper table to share the events of the day and provide support or encouragement. Too often we end up on the sofa in front of the TV and we ignore each other for the sake of empty entertainment. I think a real good daily supper could improve a whole lot of problems in this world. Wonder where that ever went?
